Bufflehead Sailing Charters out of Rockland, Maine provides a unique sailing option along the Maine Coast on a 32' gaff sloop. Captain Daniel Bennett offers custom daysail charters, with trips from an hour to all day, where guests enjoy a highly personal experience.
Bufflehead was designed and built by the famed Bud McIntosh for his own use, and combines all he learned into an expression of manifest excellence. She is strong, safe, swift, and seaworthy (32' LOD 10'6" Beam 5'3" Draft), and her comfortable cockpit is complimented by wide side decks and a small cabin which features a very cozy, comfortable interior. Bufflehead has full six foot headroom below, along with cozy berths, a small wood cookstove, a propane cooktop, a sink, with fresh and salt water, a separate head (toilet) and a table.
With her club foot jib, and high peaked mainsail, she is an easy boat to sail, and is predictable and sweet. Bufflehead turns heads and steals hearts where ever she goes, has been featured in numerous articles, and was Miss June in the 2011 Calendar of Wooden Boats.
