Sail on the newest Maine windjammer in the fleet, built in 1983 along the traditional lines of the schooners that navigated the waters off the coast of Maine more than a hundred years ago. Attention has been given to the details that will assure you the best windjammer cruise around.

Welcome aboard your sailing adventure. We love the HERITAGE and why not, she is the only schooner that you can sail on that we, the captains and owners, designed and built ourselves right here in Maine. That's right!, this is the only windjammer that the owners are the captains on board and not only do we sail, we designed and built the HERITAGE ourselves. She is a big, powerful, wonderful, stable vessel, 95 ft long and 24 ft wide, with plenty of deck space for everyone. The HERITAGE continues the long historical tradition of Maine coasting schooners. Our interest in the maritime history of the coast of Maine has been the foundation of the schooner's design. She is not a replica, but rather the next generation of coasting schooner designed specifically with your comfort and safety in mind.

Both of us, Captains Doug and Linda, will be aboard with you. We sail on all the trips as your captains and hosts. You are going to enjoy a memorable sailing experience, meet new friends that are also aboard to have some fun, go for a sail and cruise around the beautiful islands and bays of "DownEast" Maine. We'll anchor at unspoiled islands and harbors. Maybe you'll go for a row, explore the beach or just relax and enjoy the scenery after the day's sail. Often we'll drop anchor off a picturesque harbor and go ashore to explore a quaint village, do a little shopping or take a walk out to the lighthouse on the point. There is no set schedule. We go where the wind and tide take us. However the trip wouldn't be complete without anchoring off an island and rowing ashore for an all-you-can-eat lobster bake on a deserted beach.
