Pictures from the Penobscot Marine Museum tell many stories. The picture on the card below was taken in 1894 at the Oddfellows Hall in Belfast (the building now houses Chase’s Daily). We do not know what the men are drinking or why they are peeling apples, but we can have a lot of fun thinking about both, and eating some of the food they might have eaten in 1894 in Belfast, prepared by Chef Evan Mallet (Ondine Oyster & Wine Bar) in 2018. Please join us for some fun and see more of our photos – old ones of familiar places and some of our newest collection of work by Kosti Ruohomaa that is creating a stir around the state. And as always, Evan’s cooking is the icing on any cake.
